Prof. Ekstrøm is Professor at the section of Biostatistics, University of Copenhagen. His research interests lies within mathematical statistical relatived to high-dimensional data problems - particularly within the fields of bioinformatics, statistical genetics, and genetic epidemiology. He is former chair of the Danish Society for Theoretical Statistics and currently deputy head of Biostatistics, UCPH. His research group consists of 1 post-doc and 8 PhD students. Within sport analytics and the S-TRAINING network, his research interests have been on sport tournament predictions - particularly within football - and comparison and evaluation of predictions. He and his group are currently working on modeling the dynamics of cycling stages and identifying team superiority trends in handball and basket ball matches as well as in full season leagues.
