David Van Bulck obtained a Ph.D. degree in Applied Economics, titled "Sports timetabling: theoretical results and new insights in algorithm performance" and supervised by prof. dr. Dries Goossens. He is currently a postdoctoral researcher at the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration of Ghent University where he conducts research on (sports) timetabling, algorithm analysis, and the use of machine learning techniques to recommend what algorithm is most promising to solve a particular problem instance.
